Advancing the Calculation Engine for Scope 1–3

The Varmennappi calculation engine has been expanded to support structured Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 modeling.

The system is designed to integrate heterogeneous data sources and apply consistent calculation logic across different emission categories.

Key capabilities include:

• Separation of activity data and emission factors
• Support for upstream and lifecycle-based calculations
• Explicit handling of uncertainty and estimation layers

This reflects common Scope 3 accounting practice: combine primary data where available with secondary emission factors when primary data is incomplete or unavailable.

The engine is built to evolve as regulatory requirements mature, ensuring compatibility with emerging EU reporting frameworks.
